New Zealand - sign of the times.

One of my favourite New Zealand cook book writers is Sophie Gray - more commonly known as the Destitute Gourmet.  I have seen her cook live twice, and I enjoy her family/cafe style cooking.  Her approach to cooking is budget wise whilst still nutritious and tasty.  I have many favourite recipes although people always enjoy her roasted vege couscous with curried dressing, and in winter I love the Wine braised beef with herby dumplings - especially as it works just as well in the crockpot.  Sometimes she posts recipes online, like her yummy easter buns.  Her recipes are good for making meat stretch a bit further, or to tempt those meat eaters with some tasty vegetarian meals.  If you are unsure about whether to splash out on another cook book then google Sophie Gray - you will find plenty of recipes she has shared, try one out and then go purchase one of her books!
